-Official Press Release-
YOGA IN DAILY LIFE WELCOMES GALLERY FOR JUSTICE
Art + Social Justice join to form a non-profit charity organisation ‘Gallery for Justice’!
Gallery for Justice aims to unite a social justice conscience with traditional print media. Launched in August this year with the photo exhibition 'Chasing the Jakartan Dream' (first in the series of quarterly held charity photo exhibitions that feature social issues in different parts of the world) Gallery for Justice provides articles in the same frame as the print and offers a context to the image encouraging conversation about the issues and the projects featured.
By purchasing the prints or donating to ‘Gallery for Justice’ you take action for change while educating and impacting the lives of your family, friends and colleagues. The money raised goes right back to the featured projects and the humanitarian organisations the artists worked with.
Yoga in Daily Life Annandale centre is happy to announce Mark Tipple, the Gallery for Justice co-founder as our special Community Night guest on Friday October 15! An inspiring young documentary photographer and filmmaker will be sharing his story and offer some practical tips on how to put together similar projects and raise your voice for justice.
The event will include a vegetarian meal, and the money raised will go to support both the humanitarian project of Yoga in Daily Life in India and the humanitarian organisations in Indonesia Mark worked with (Roostien Ilyas, a social worker and founder of the Nanda Dian Nusantara and the Pelita Ilmu Foundation in Jakarta.
